How to Excite your family for your disney trip
Hi, Y’all!
When you tell your family you're going to Disney there is usually a lot of squealing and happiness in that room! And that's how it should be! A large part of the fun of a vacation is the anticipation leading up to it. But what do you do when you tell your kids you're going to Disney and then leave in six months? Or what if you have an older kid who is currently too cool for school and Disney? How do you keep that same level of excitement up to the day you leave? How do you incorporate Disney magic into your everyday routine? Well here are some of my favorite tips and tricks!
START A COUNTDOWN!
When I was a kid my family and I went to Disney World for the first time and nearly jumped out of my shoes every time I thought about it. Part of that excitement came from my mother allowing my brother and me to cross off every day on the family calendar until our trip. A great way to keep the excitement is to have a family or individual countdown. You would be surprised how much checking off the days builds excitement for your trip. There are hundreds of cute countdowns online (Here are some of my favorites). Or for a fin craft have your kids make their own! It can be however many days out you want. You are super surprised how time flies!
WAYS TO GET YOUR KIDS EXCITED TO MEET CHARACTERS!
If you have little Mouseketeers at home another fun thing is to have them write a letter to their favorite character(s)! You can mail a letter to almost any Disney character and get an autographed response in about four to six weeks. It's a super fun activity for kids (I mean even as an adult it's still pretty cool) and would make a great keepsake for a scrapbook. You can send a letter to either Disneyland or Disney World! If the character you write to can’t exactly right back you will still get a response from them but they will have one of their many pals give them a helping hand!

START A DISNEY MOVIE MARATHON!
One of my personal favorites is having a Disney movie countdown. Every time we go to Disney my family and I have a list of movies we go through before our trip. Anything from Disney classics to Star Wars and movies related to new attractions. Generally, we try to do four movies a month but it is totally up to you what you want to do. It is a super fun way to get the whole family involved and introduce your kids to the classics you loved as kids. I even created my own Disney movie countdown list. It’s available for download HERE!
INVOLVE YOUR WHOLE FAMILY!
One of the best ways to get excited about your vacation is to research things to do on your vacation. When you go to Disney it is important to customize your vacation for you and your family. When you book with Mouse Ears and Puppy Dog Tails you get a travel agent that customizes your vacation to you. We can help with restaurant suggestions to daily itineraries. The best way to get your family excited about a trip is to plan things that everybody will enjoy. Whether that’s meeting Cinderella or riding Splash Mountain during the Magic Kingdom fireworks and involving your whole family in your vacation planning will encourage everybody to excitedly await your trip to Disney!
Well that’s all from us! Until next time:
